Inside My Airbnb Life in the Dominican Republic

The Pros & Cons of Living Airbnb-Style in the Dominican Republic

Pros:
Flexibility: I can switch up neighborhoods whenever I feel like a change of scenery. City views one month, beach breezes the next.
No Long-Term Commitments: No lease, no utility bills, no furniture shopping. Just show up and settle in.
Local Immersion: Staying in residential areas helps me experience everyday Dominican life in a way resorts never could. (My fave as an expat!)

Cons:
⚠️ Inconsistent Wi-Fi & Water: Some places have lightning-fast internet, others… not so much. Always double-check with the host and READ REVIEWS.
⚠️ Photos Can Be Deceiving: Not every Airbnb looks like the listing. I’ve definitely had a few “hmm” moments. Not my favorite but bugs and overall conditions were not what was advertised. Again READ REVIEWS.
⚠️ Frequent Moving: As fun as it is to explore new spots, packing and adjusting every few weeks can get exhausting.
